Ingredients :

1) 4 medium sized potatoes (peeling is optional , i usually don’t)
2) 2 medium tomatoes (since it is a curry and all curries are supposed to be dry plz deseed them)
3) A can of chickpeas or garbonzo beans(kichererbsen)
4) Salt to taste
Step 1 ) In a pan medium to hot , fry the following spices till it splutters
mustard seeds , dried red chillies , coriander seeds , cumin seeds , fennel seeds , urad dal , cloves , cinnamon , cardamom , asafoetida , ginger , garlic and bay leaves

Step 2) Add the potatoes and keep on stirring

Step 3 : Fry the potatoes for 10 minutes and add tomatoes (tomatoes will absorb all the moisture so make sure to keep stirring)

Step 4 : Add the chickpeas in the end , add turmeric and salt to taste

Step 6 : Eat it with rice or makes an awesome filling for samosa (i cook rice with saffron)
